The gap between loving your parent and being able to care for them. Every meal we prepare, every overnight we sit, every medication reminder we give — it is not a line item. It is the specific moment where love alone runs out and The Wright Agency begins. Browse the services below not as a checklist, but as the answer!

Before we ever place a Direct Care Worker in your parent's home, there are four steps — and we name each one plainly, because a family deserves to know exactly what is happening and why. Some take place by phone before we ever meet. Some happen at your parents' kitchen table. None of the first three costs you anything, and none commits you to care.
01
Phone · Video · or In Person
The first conversation. This is where you learn who we are — what The Wright Agency® does, what The Wright White Glove Standard™ actually means, and why we are not an agency that simply fills a shift. You tell us what is happening with your parent; we listen. No forms yet, no paperwork — a conversation about whether we are the right fit for your family.
What it's for: getting to know each other. · How: however is easiest for you. · Cost: free, no commitment.
02
Phone · Video
The in-depth one. Once you know us, we go deep on your parent's actual needs — daily routines, health considerations, what help looks like on a hard day, schedule, and how care can be paid for. Because this is a thorough conversation rather than a walk-through, we do it by phone or video, so you don't have to wait for a visit to get real answers. This is what a care plan is built from — built around your parent, never a template.
What it's for: the full picture of your parent's care needs. · How: phone or video. · Cost: complimentary.
03
In Person — We Come to You
The walk-through. A plan built over the phone misses the loose rug in the hallway, the dim light near the stairs, the way your mother grips the counter to cross the kitchen. So we come to the home and look — the living space, the bathroom, the mobility paths, the lighting — and we flag what would make your parent safer before anything goes wrong. This step has to be in person. You cannot see a home through a screen.
What it's for: the physical home itself. · How: in person, we come to you. · Cost: free.
04
In Person
The beginning. When you are ready, this is where it becomes official: we finalize the care plan, sign the agreements, set the schedule, and confirm how care is paid for. It is also where your matched Direct Care Worker is confirmed — so the person who walks through your parent's door is never a stranger. After this, care begins.
What it's for: finalize the plan, sign, schedule, begin. · How: in person. · This is: the start of care.
One visit or four — you set the pace. Because we come to you, the assessment, the safety check, and onboarding can often happen together in a single visit at your parent's home, or we can take them one at a time. The only rule is that nothing is decided until you understand exactly what you are deciding.
"Your parent deserves to be cared for — not just cared about." This is where that begins.

Bring your worries. Not your paperwork.
You don't need insurance cards, a diagnosis, or a list of questions ready. The first conversation is just that — a conversation. We'll walk you through eligibility, VA benefits, and scheduling after we understand what your parent actually needs.

Delivered by Direct Care Workers who treat your parent's dignity as the first and last priority of every visit.
A Direct Care Worker awake and present from evening to morning, for the parent who wanders, falls in the dark, or simply cannot sleep alone anymore. You are not asking for the impossible. You are asking for sleep.
Continuous, around-the-clock presence by a rotating team of caregivers who know your parent — by name, by preference, by morning routine. The alternative to a facility, designed for families who promised home would always mean home.
— The Wright Agency® Operating Principle

Most families assume in-home care is an out-of-pocket expense. It is often not. Three payment paths exist that most families never explore — because nobody in the industry takes the time to explain them.
Open to every family — client or not. Stay close, even on the good days. Caring for a parent doesn't pause between visits. Join the Wright Care Circle and we'll send one practical thing a month — the Wright Wellness Guide, a safety tip, a benefit most families miss — written for the person doing the worrying. No selling. No spam. Leave anytime.

What We Believe
Our Care Philosophy. The Wright Agency® is a non-medical, in-home care company built on one belief: your parent deserves to stay in the home they know — and to be cared for there, the Wright way.
We serve seniors, veterans, and adults living with disability across western Pennsylvania and eastern Ohio, helping them live independently and comfortably at home instead of moving to a hospital, nursing home, or assisted-living facility before they have to.
Our Direct Care Workers come to your parent. They are trained, screened, and matched to the family they serve — and they reflect the communities they work in.
Our goal is to improve the daily quality of life of the people we serve, and to connect families to the resources most never knew existed.
Our purpose is to help families see clearly. We sit down, we listen, we assess honestly what your parent actually needs — and we deliver The Wright White Glove Standard™ on every visit. No exceptions.

Aging brings new freedom and new challenges in the same breath. Asking for help is not weakness — it is wisdom, and meeting that need with dignity is the whole of what we do.
We train every Direct Care Worker to do one thing first: know the person. Familiar faces and steady routines lower confusion and fear — so we protect consistency, learn your parent's history, likes, and triggers, and build each day around what keeps them calm, engaged, and themselves.
Our nation's veterans and their families deserve the respect and dignity they have earned fighting for our freedom. We do our job with honor, serving all veterans and their families by helping them cope with the challenges of aging and living with injuries sustained in the field. For veterans and surviving spouses eligible for VA Aid & Attendance. We accept the benefit, navigate the application, and design a care plan around the funding your loved one earned.
For families who are caring for their parent themselves and need to breathe — a weekend, a vacation, a single afternoon. We step in. The Standard does not change because the schedule is short. These short-term breaks can help to relieve stress, restore energy, and promote balance in your life. Sharing the responsibility for caregiving enables additional support during this difficult time.
The Wright Agency can support you and your loved one by working with a hospice agency or medical provider(s) to fully meet the family’s care needs. We will help care for your loved one and help around the house as well as provide the family with emotional and moral support.

The Wright Agency® provides one-on-one support for adults living with disability — help that makes an independent life possible, not a managed one. As needs change, we change with them, so your loved one keeps taking part in the activities and routines that matter to them.
We provide non-medical support during recovery — so your loved one can focus on healing while we handle everything else at home. For those recovering from surgery, a fall, or welcoming a new baby.
The Wright Standard travels with your loved one — wherever life takes them.
A cruise, a resort, a family wedding, a business trip — a qualified Wright travel companion goes along, managing luggage, navigating security and customs, and handling ground transportation, so the journey stays a joy and never a worry.
We love referrals, please fill out this quick form so we can contact the person(s) in need.

Every Direct Care Worker is interviewed, background-checked, and license-verified before their first visit — then supervised and re-evaluated after it. Vetting happens before they enter your parent's home. Not during orientation. Before.
A person's inability to leave home without the help of another — or when leaving home is difficult enough that it puts their health or safety at risk.
“Unskilled” or “Non-medical” care typically refers to companion and personal care activities such as bathing, grooming, dressing, as well as assistance with meal preparation, light housekeeping, and running errands. It could also include medication reminders, assistance with ambulation, and transportation to medical appointments. These types of services are typically provided by Direct Care Workers (DCWs) or Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and can be arranged for anywhere from a few hours to 24-hours a day. “Unskilled” or “Non-medical” care is often sought by the elderly, new and expectant parents, individuals with disabilities, and those transitioning from a hospital or medical facility to home.
Consistency is a Standard here, not a preference — but consistency doesn't end at one face. Whoever walks through your parents' door holds the same training and the same access to your parents' care plan, routine, and history. So the person may change; what they know, and the way they show up, does not. We work to keep your parent's regular Direct Care Worker steady — and when someone new steps in, they arrive already knowing your parent's name, routine, and what "off" looks like for them. You, your family, and your care team are asked, regularly, whether it's working. Call (724) 979-6438 anytime it isn't.
Click here to submit an online request to The Wright Agency or contact us at (724) 979-6438. We will come to your home to complete an assessment, and our team will discuss a plan of care.
Personal and companion care typically run $26–$34 per hour in western PA, with overnight and 24/7 rates structured separately. We design a custom care plan after a complimentary in-home assessment — no commitment required.
Yes. Veterans and surviving spouses may qualify for VA Aid & Attendance, which can cover most or all in-home care costs. We walk families through eligibility and paperwork.
